“Stained glass has an immediate appeal to us, by reason of its emotive power, so much akin to ours, and its impassioned crystallization.”

Location: First Unitarian Congregation, Toronto, ON
Description: Tower Window and 3 Library Windows
The tower rises through the building like a crystal prism in its natural stone matrix with the glasswork adding a mystical, totemic presence. The stained glass design was inspired by the Unitarian’s flaming chalice symbol which represents Revelation. This sinuous, golden spiral of flames passes through a soft, white, veil moving upwards without end.

Location: Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community, Vancouver, BC
Description: Circular Glass Mosaic above the Altar
A challenging project – I had to incorporate an existing crucifix into my mosaic artwork. My solution was to embrace this sculpture and give it context, using the Vancouver landscape with its unmistakable forms and colours to bring this powerful work into our own time and place.

Description: Glass Mosaic for Organ Casing on the Chancel
This collaboration with Casavant Organ Builders is truly one-of-a-kind. The 44 foot wide glass mosaic and white organ pipes resemble a dove resting within a desert flower. The sound of the organ in this sanctuary is heavenly.
Location: Scotiabank HQ, Scotia Plaza, Toronto, ON
Description: Mural for Walkway / Subway Concourse on 3 walls
The 120 foot long mural was created with gold, copper and silver leaf with reverse painting on glass. The painted, flowing images are of everyday life –which is what glitters more than gold. The artwork was created in partnership with my friend, painter Michael Poulton.
Location: Greenwood College School, Toronto, ON
Description: 5 Floors of integrated Interior Glass Screen
Symbolically, the trees speak to the role of the teachers with their grounded outreach and sheltering branches. Moving around and through the branches are the birds in eight spirit house colours, creating a connection to students. The richly coloured root system celebrates the founders of the school.
